Fridtjof Nansen Ship - Scaffolding for Shipbuilding

Norwegian cruise, ferry and cargo operator, Hurtigruten, contracted our customer, Kleven Verft AS, to construct a groundbreaking hybrid-powered expedition cruise ship earlier this year. It is expected to be delivered in 2021.

The expedition ship will accommodate 530 guests, taking them around the world in a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly way than ever seen before. It will be built to withstand some of the most extreme weather conditions, including an ice-strengthened hull.

The design, construction, engineering and technology will be based on Hurtigruten’s next-generation ships, MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen, which are currently under construction at the Kleven Yard, Norway.

To support the project, HAKI has contributed approximately 250 tonnes of Universal scaffolding for the shipbuilding.
