What types of stairways are available?

HAKI offers both Steel Stairways with Handrails and lightweight Aluminium Stairways with Handrails, suitable for scaffolding, concrete frame, timber or embankments.

What are the key differences between the steel and aluminium versions?

Steel Stairways: Robust construction, ideal for demanding sites. Modular sizes extend up to 18 steps and up to 36 steps with support beams. Aluminium Stairways: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, easy to transport. Features non-slip steps and foldable design (handrails shipped loose due to folding constraints).

Are the handrails included? How are they fitted?

Yes. Both versions include safety handrails. On the aluminium model, handrails are shipped separately (“loose”) and easily fitted onsite following clear instructions.

Where can these stairways be used?

They are perfect for scaffold, concrete, or timber access on construction sites as well as embankments. 

What safety standards do they meet?

All HAKI Steel Stairways and Aluminium Stairways comply with EN 12811-1, COSHH, OSHA and ANSI ASME standards.

Can the stairways be extended?

Yes. Steel Stairways are modular in 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18-step sizes and can be extended up to 36 steps using stairway support beams. 

How easy are they to assemble and transport?

Steel: Modular build allows secure fixing to concrete slabs or scaffolding; handrails remain parallel for a clean setup. Aluminium: Lightweight enough for rapid deployment.

What maintenance or inspection is required?

HAKI recommends periodic visual inspections on welds, alignment, bolts/nuts, hooks and structural components. This ensures continued compliance and user safety.

Is technical documents available?
